Model United Nations (MUN) is an educational simulation that allows students to role-play as delegates representing various countries in discussions on global issues, mirroring the operations of the United Nations.
Through participation in MUN, students develop essential skills such as research, public speaking, critical thinking, and diplomacy, while gaining a deeper understanding of international relations and current global challenges. Unlike traditional academic programs that focus primarily on theoretical knowledge, MUN emphasizes experiential learning, encouraging students to collaborate, negotiate, and formulate resolutions in a dynamic environment. This hands-on approach not only enhances their awareness of global affairs but also fosters civic engagement and prepares them to become informed and responsible global citizens.
Students who join the MUN are trained after school on certain days of the week. Delegates with experience become part of the Aditi MUN team and they participate in inter-school Model UN Conferences. This is a student-led initiative with a teacher facilitator.
