The Aditi Parliamentary Debate (TAPD ‘23) was held in school on July 22nd and 23rd. This was the third edition of TAPD, and only the second one to be held in the offline, face to face format. Bringing together 16 teams in a battle of words, the event showcased students’ knack for thoughtful arguments and reasoning. Organized by Ameya Krishnaswamy (11 AICE) and Radhika Ramdas (12 AICE), and ably supported by a team of twenty volunteers, the event provided a platform for participants to engage in intellectual discussions on issues like feminism, caste pride, political parties’ strategies and many more. The motion for the final round was “this house regrets the pursuit of utopia”.

The team from Neev Academy clinched the title of winners, impressing the adjudicators with their structured arguments and presentation. The runners up spot was secured by NPS Indiranagar, who gave a tough competition till the end. The competition was a testament to students’ dedication to refining their debating skills and thinking on their feet.

The core adjudication panel, consisting of students from the National Law School, added credibility to the event. Two Aditi alumni among them reminded everyone of the lasting impact such competitions can have on students’ growth.

The Parliamentary Debate competition wasn’t just about winning or losing. It served as a training ground for participants to improve their public speaking, research, and analytical abilities. Through healthy debates, students learned how to express themselves clearly and listen to different perspectives. The event’s significance lies in its contribution to students’ all-round development. By encouraging them to articulate their thoughts effectively, the competition prepared them for future leadership roles in a world where communication is key.
