Elementary School Library Week was held from August 22 to 26, 2022. Students from Std. 01 to Std. 05 took part in activities which revolved around the broad theme of ‘Water’.

The week started with Std. 01 students dressing up as characters from fairy tales and other books. Not only were they excited to see what character their classmates had dressed up as, they also went on a parade through Elementary and Middle School where they were cheered on by the other students.

Some of the sessions included:

  • Roopa Pai, a renowned  children’s author, spoke to Std. 05 about her science fiction series ‘Taranauts’ and shared her knowledge on the rivers of Karnataka with Std. 03.
  • Sangeetha Kadur, an illustrator, came in to teach freestyle nature and wild animal sketching.
  • Shubha, from Biome Environmental Solutions conducted workshops and short talks on water conservation and ground water in Bengaluru.
  • Interactive reading sessions with Arundhati Venkatesh, Asha Nehemiah and Bijal Vachharajani.
  • Students were really engrossed in the story of Kalia which was narrated to them by Shylaja Sampath with innovative gestures and voice modulation.
  • The Bhoomi Thayiya Balaga mesmerised all of Elementary School with their songs on the lakes of Bengaluru.
  • Aditi De held a workshop on writing fables and poems.

The marvellous working model of a waterfall and an Indian village house made by Mr. Devaraj with the support by Mr. Kumar, our talented support staff members looked magnificent and was thoroughly appreciated by the guests and students.

To keep up with the excitement of Library Week, a Book Fair was organized from September 5 to 9, 2022. Our week long Book Fair, organised by APG was a roaring success. A wide range of books from different genres and reading levels were on display and we got a very good response from students, parents and staff.
