The Interact Club of Aditi and the Aditi Alumni Association, in collaboration with Narayana Hrudayalaya, hosted the 10th Aditi Blood Donation Camp on the 20th of July 2019. This year’s event marks a decade of Interact/AAA blood donation camps at MAIS.
Hosting a blood drive resonates with the Interact Club’s core values of giving back to the community. This event is organised to raise awareness regarding the various blood-related diseases, as well as to aid individuals in need. It is aimed to increase awareness among the Aditi community of students, parents, faculty and alumni about the life-saving benefits of blood donation. It also helps people overcome the fear associated with blood donation.
The 10th Aditi Blood Donation Camp was a resounding success with 144 donors – the highest yet! This can potentially help save over 400 lives. Blood donation camps at Aditi are not grim and hospital-like, but rather, they are a festive affair. Live performances, extravagant decorations and a fun photo booth are just some of the highlights.
Every year, members of the MAIS Interact Club put hours of effort into the decorations, promotion, and execution of the event to foster a vibrant atmosphere and to encourage as many people as possible to donate blood.
Over the ten years of Aditi Blood Donation Camps, over a thousand bottles of blood have been collected. Quite a landmark to reach! We hope that the next thousand will take far shorter time while the festivities continue to celebrate the spirit of giving.
