The Library was a hub of activities for the elementary school students from August 7th to the 14th. It started with Bhoomi Thayiya Balaga’s folk songs on the lakes and localities of old Bangalore.
Suresh Moona, Naresh Narsimhan and Shubha’s audio visual presentation on our heritage city, lakes and open wells of Bangalore was an eye opener for students and adults alike.
Have you heard of Chauka- bara, Aliguli mane, Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, Lagori and Chinni-kolu? These are some of the games that kids played with great competitive spirit.
With so much to explore in Bangalore, our students set off on various field trips in and around the city. Grade 5 went on an artistic expedition with Aditya Vipparthi to Bhoga Nandeeshwara. Under Aditya’s artistic guidance they sketched and captured the historical essence of the temple. Grade 4 went to Lalbagh with a focus on trees of Bangalore. Ulhas Anand, Srinivas, and Prasad from Ecoedu Limited were like walking encyclopedias of the flora and fauna in Lalbagh. A trip worth taking! Grade 3 on their Bangalore Walk stumbled on gems like the Someshwara Temple, Carlton House and National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA). Carlton House was the highlight of the trip, which was made possible by Mr. P.G. Halarnkar, Mr. Suresh Babu, Mr. Vasu and his team. MAIS students were the very first school to visit Carlton House.
Once again, this Library Week 2017 ended successfully!!
