The Book Club of 12th Grade took itself on a little literary jaunt to the second-hand book stores and coffee house on Church Street on November 16th 2017.
Beginning in Book Worm, we used a book hunt to navigate our way through the shelves and shelves of new and used books. Students and teachers set each other the most cryptic of clues, some involving humming a melody and interpreting obscure symbols, that had others chasing after The Brothers Karamazov, Three Men in a Boat and The White Tiger.
We then shifted ourselves to the neighbouring Indian Coffee House. Reminiscent of the opening scene of our recent read, Ghachar Gochar, the uniformed waiters, cold coffees, dosas and cutlets inspired much conversation and debate.
With our next read being Bronte’s Wuthering Heights, we can only imagine where our next Book Club adventure will take us!
